Before visiting the beach make sure you have all of your supplies.

I share the things that I recommend bringing to the beach in how to pack for your Oahu vacation with a toddler. In gluten free options on your Oahu vacation we cover some great snack options for your beach adventure. Having beach snacks and drinks can make or break your experience in my opinion. Especially when it comes to munchkins.3 of the most amazing kid friendly beaches on Oahu. Visit shortsweetmom.com to see these must visit locations and more or pin for later. The one thing I would add to the list would be a beach umbrella or sun tent. If you plan to be at the beach for an extended period of time it could be worth having. Or see if your lodging can provide you with one. The sun is very strong and there is nothing sadder than being on a beach vacation with a sun burn!3 of the most amazing kid friendly beaches on Oahu. One of our families favorite places on earth is the beach.

There is something almost therapeutic about the ocean. The sound of the waves, sand between your toes and the beauty of God’s creation surrounding you on a nice sunny day is truly one of my happy places. So lets go to the beach!

1. Ko Olina

This is one of our all time favorite places to visit on the island. There are 4 man made lagoons that are the perfect setting for a family day at the beach. The calm waters are great for the kids to play and a great place for snorkeling. This is a lovely place to enjoy the sunset.3 of the most amazing kid friendly beaches on Oahu. The parking lots run on the smaller side so you may have to wait a while for a parking spot, especially on the weekend. Ko Olina has great restroom and shower facilities. There is also a lovely walking path that goes along the property. You are not allowed to use beach umbrellas or sun tents at this location. However there are a lot of palm trees that can be used for shade.3 of the most amazing kid friendly beaches on Oahu. If you would like to spend most of your trip in this beautiful location you could chose to stay at either the Four Seasons, Aulani Disney Resort, Beach villas at Ko Olina and Marriots Ko Olina Beach club. We have not stayed in any of these resorts yet but hope to in the future.

2. Lanikai

This is one of the most beautiful beaches on Oahu and I dare to say the world. The sand feels like powdered sugar. The water is post card blue and is very calm. Perfect for you littles to play and swim. Coming to the beach after the doing the Pillbox hike is perfection.3 of the most amazing kid friendly beaches on Oahu. The parking is street neighborhood parking and fills up fast. You just have to be on the lookout for someone who is leaving the beach and you should be able to find a good parking spot. Because this is a neighborhood there are no restroom or shower facilities. This is when that baby powder I mention in how to pack for your Oahu vacation with a toddler comes in handy. You can always drive to near by Kailua beach park and use the facilities there. In my opinion the pros out way cons.3 of the most amazing kid friendly beaches on Oahu. 3. Kalama beach park

This beach holds a special place in my heart! Kalama beach is where my awesome hubby made his surprise proposal to me. I will save that story for another time.3 of the most amazing kid friendly beaches on Oahu. Visit shortsweetmom.com to see these must visit locations and more or pin for later. There is a parking lot and street parking in the neighborhood. The parking lot closes its gate at 6pm so make sure your car is moved before then. There are restrooms and showers. This beach has a bit more waves than the other two beaches. You will want to check how the waves are look before letting the kiddos play in the water.3 of the most amazing kid friendly beaches on Oahu. At this beach you will want to have a hand on your little one and make sure they are wearing a flotation device.3 of the most amazing kid friendly beaches on Oahu.
