Making your diaper rash cream.

In a double broiler, I use a metal bowl over a pan, add the Shea butter, Coconut oil, Olive oil and bees wax. Leave in double broiler until everything is melted. Do not let it boil.Remove from heat and place in the fridge to cool for at least an hour. If you are short on time, like many mamas are, you could put it in the freezer. I have done this if I am in a rush and don’t want to wait a whole hour.Once the mixture has cooled it will be firmer. You can then add the 3 Tablespoons of Zinc Oxide. You can then mix the cream. I use a hand mixture. Combine until creamy. Place is a glass airtight jar and place back into fridge. It will harden and then you can transfer to a smaller container and keep the larger container stored in the fridge until you need a refill. This recipe is adapted from My Merry Messy Life.

Your turn.

It does take a bit of time to make but once it is made you are set for quite a while. When applying this cream a little goes a long way so one batch can last for a few months or more. Do you like make your own diaper cream? Do you have a special ingredient I should try in this recipe? If you try to make this cream let me know how it turns out. Heres to rash free baby bottoms!
